Events
Each year the CAMH Foundation hosts two signature events. The CAMH Transforming Lives Awards and Queen Street Unmasked. In between, there is no shortage of generous and imaginative supporters who hold special events to benefit CAMH. Whether it’s a golf tournament, a gala, a fashion or a music event – there is something for everyone when deciding on which event to attend.
Hold Your Own Event
Hold a special event to benefit CAMH. Your event, held in support of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) Foundation, helps create a better understanding of mental illness and addiction in our community and leads to better research, teaching, clinical care and treatment for the 1 in 5 affected Canadians.
If you are interested in holding your own event, please download and complete the Event Proposal Application.
Some of the ways you can help are:
- Host a golf tournament
- Hold an auction, raffle or talent show
- Organize a dance or gala dinner
- Hold a theme breakfast, lunch, dinner or craft show
- Hold a barbecue, softball tournament or walk-a-thon, bake sale, party, etc.
- Donate your dress down days
The possibilities are endless!
Steps to help you plan your event:
- Fill out the event proposal application. Download the proposal form, and fill it out. Submit it to the CAMH Foundation. This is essential for obtaining donor and sponsor clearance.
- Have a planning committee. This will not only help to share the workload, but will also combine many different skills.
- Establish your goals. Set realistic and measurable financial goals. Identify all possible sources of both income and expenses.
- Get the right fit for your audience. Be sure that the event fits the size, interest, talents, goals and availability of your audience to ensure that people will attend.
- Promote your event with pride! Please ensure that all of your promotional materials and publicity are authorized by the CAMH Foundation.
- Say thank you! Acknowledge everyone who participated in and supported your event. Let them know how much was raised for a great cause and how much you appreciate their support.
- Tax Receipting. All funds must be forwarded to the CAMH Foundation within 45 days of your fundraising event. Tax receipts will be issued for the maximum allowable amount as governed by Canada's Revenue Agency. Donations of $10 or more will be receipted.
