Each year the CAMH Foundation hosts two signature events. The CAMH Transforming Lives Awards and Queen Street Unmasked. In between, there is no shortage of generous and imaginative supporters who hold special events to benefit CAMH. Whether it’s a golf tournament, a gala, a fashion or a music event – there is something for everyone when deciding on which event to attend.
Kicking for CAMH: Shorinji Kempo Kick-a-thon

On May 27, Shorinji Kempo Toronto Branch hosted its 14th Annual Charity "Kick-a-thon" to raise funds for CAMH.
Members of the branch performed 500 successive kicks with loud kai (yell) in return for generous sponosrhip from supporters. The event raised a total of $7,500, bringing the grand total of funds raised for CAMH to $80,000!
The Kickathon event is the longest standing charitable initiative supporting the CAMH Foundation and, prior to 1998, the Addiction Research Foundation (ARF), one of CAMH’s four founding organizations.
The philosophy of Shorinji Kempo emphasizes importance of helping people to help themselves. They believe this event helps them practice this ideal and offers a ray of hope to those seemingly trapped by serious, life-threatening addictive illnesses.
We wish to thank Shorinji Kempo Toronto Branch and their generous sponsors for their continued support.
CAMH's Transforming Lives Awards is an important fundraising and awareness event that honours extraordinary people who are courageously living with mental illness and/or addiction, and who now serve as models of and inspiration to others.
