CAMH's Longest-Kicking third party fundraiser!
On May 27th, 2009, Shorinji Kempo Toronto Branch hosted it's 14th Annual Charity Kick-a-thon to raise funds for CAMH.
Members of the branch performed 500 successive kicks with loud kai (yell) in return for generous sponosrhip from supporters. The event raised a total of $7,500, bringing the grand total of funds raised for CAMH to $80,000!
The Kickathon event is the longest standing charitable initiative supporting the CAMH Foundation and, prior to 1998, the Addiction Research Foundation (ARF), one of CAMH’s four founding organizations.
